Welcome to the Valley of the Moon Trap Club, located in the beautiful Sonoma Valley, the heart of the California Wine Country!

The club is a short 45 minute drive North of San Francisco, right off of Hwy. 121, which falls right between the beautiful Napa Valley and historic town of Petaluma. Click here for directions.

Valley of the Moon Trap Club is a family oriented club specializing in shotgun sports for the whole family. We feature 7 trap fields plus an exciting sporting clays course. Our club is open every day to members and to the public on Sundays. Occasional Sundays may not be open to the public in the event of bad weather or if we are hosting a registered event.

VOMTC always has instructions available for beginners, youths or anyone who would like to try their hand at this fun and exciting sport, with the emphasis on Safety! We have lots of women shooters as well and we always encourage new women and youth shooters to come on out and join in the fun! Our philosophy isn't about how well you shoot, it's about friends and family enjoying this sport together and having a SAFE and FUN time at our club. Everyone is welcome to come on out on a Sunday and give it a try.

We also have a nice club house with a full kitchen, clean men's and women's bathrooms, a soda machine, a beautiful rock fireplace and a full bar for events and gatherings. Our club house is available (for a minimal fee) to members for events such as large parties, weddings, showers, etc. Just one of the many perks of becoming a member.

Several times a year we hold club "Fun Shoots" that are events where just about everyone gets a prize whether you're a great shooter or a not so great shooter, a young shooter or an old shooter. These Fun Shoots are open to members and guests. We also put on our world famous "Turkey Shoots". No, we don’t actually shoot the turkeys... we give the whole turkeys away as prizes. These events are held the Sundays before Thanksgiving and Christmas and are always open to the public. We invite ALL shooters, from the more experienced to the not so experienced to these events and just about everyone walks away with a turkey for the dinner table and an ear to ear grin. Lunch is always served at these events and usually we have a big barbecue as well, so come-on out sometime and bring the whole family!

VOMTC hosts several other events each year including NRA Hunter Safety Courses, firearms training courses, women's shooting and safety classes and youth pheasant hunts put on by the Department of Fish and Game. So whether you’re a hunter or just a plinker or you simply want to learn the safe handling of firearms, we can help!

Our general club meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month starting at 8:00 PM. ALL members are welcome and encouraged to attend to voice their opinions about what they like or dislike to the board of directors, and to give their views or new ideas as to how we can make our club even better. Sometimes it's just fun to come out and enjoy the company of fellow members. Food is always served and in the Winter, we always have a cozy fire in the fireplace.

A Warm Welcome
